What is TOPIK?
TOPIK is a standardized test designed to assess and certify individuals learning Korean. Daehan's students take Korean lessons to get the TOPIK score for enhancing their proficiency for work or study. However, Many students find it challenging to practice and remember the vocabulary, prompting Daehan to seek my design assistance to help them learn more effectively.

☄️Problem
I conducted research by interviewed some students and found that remembering vocabulary is the most challenging part of preparing for this test. With so many words to learn, it's tough for them to figure out where to start. Additionally, the style of existing Korean vocabulary books seems too boring.
🌟Solution
I created a new book with a friendlier look, added examples of using words, divided the content, and set daily goals to help them feel less stressed and still fun with learning.

I've chosen Teacher Yong as the main character and avatar for the book cover and graphics throughout its pages. He is the Headmaster of Daehan who is always finding the best ways to teach his students and aiming to ensure their success. He is also the creative force behind this book. That's why I portray him as a hero, inspiring students to see Teacher Yong as their guide to success and achievement.

Value of early user interviews: Deciding to interview students to understand their feelings before delving into the design phase helped me contemplate what elements I should add on each page.

Passion for user research: What I also discovered along the way is that I genuinely enjoy designing with a focus on how to best help students learn while maintaining the distinctive Daehan branding of "Learning Korean with fun." After Daehan published the book for students, the feedback was fantastic. Students not only liked it but also found it to be really helpful for their studies. It's rewarding to see the positive impact on their learning journey.
